A new dental unit was donated by Brigham Young University and Manchester Friends of Hebrew University - Dental Section, much to the delight of DVI assistant Meira, whose chair dramatically burst into flames due to an electrical problem directly after a child had gotten down from it back in January. On behalf of BYU, Rae and Ted Okiishi attended a dedication ceremony on July 12th and expressed humility about BYU's stalwart ongoing support by saying they were honored to be involved and only wished they could do more – the Rambam (a legendary rabbi and doctor who taught about the kind and righteous ways of giving charity and doing good deeds) would have been pleased. Dr. David Cohen, of the Manchester Friends visited DVI on May 20th to spend the day doing urgently needed root canals, and brought with him (on the airplane and all!) a mobile nitrous unit, which Dr. Alex Crawford had requested as a donation to DVI from NHS-Manchester.
